About the Paul Hansell Foundation
The Paul Hansell Foundation was founded after the tragic loss of Paul to suicide in December 2010.
Through education and awareness the foundation aims to break down barriers and establish a proactive and preventative dialogue that puts mental health on an equal footing with all other forms of health. The foundation operates as a not for profit registered in the province of Ontario. Charitable contributions are held in the Paul Hansell Foundation Fund and administrated be the Burlington Foundation.
Mission
The Paul Hansell Foundation is driven to influence. The mission of the foundation is to promote programs aimed at the mental and emotional wellbeing of youth.

That mental health is a natural part of everyday conversation. Through education and awareness we break down the barriers and establish a proactive and preventative dialogue that puts mental health on an equal footing with all other forms of health.
Meet The Team
Brian Hansell, President
Brian, Paul’s father, is the Paul Hansell Foundation’s founder and President. Wellness is a passion for Brian and his consulting firm, Hansell Consulting Group Inc. works with companies and organizations in building resilience in their most important assets, their human resources.
In addition to his responsibilities within the Foundation, Brian is also the foundations advocate within the community. He is a member of the Burlington Community Foundation Mental Health Roundtable, Co-Chair of the Mental Wellness Alliance and specifically launched the successful Mental Health Speaker Spot Light Series. Brian is also a member of Brock University’s Mental Health Management Advisory Committee.

Jolene Hansell, Vice President
Jolene, Paul’s sister, is a youth mental health advocate. She believes that by talking about mental health, we can break the stigma. She is primarily responsible for communicating the PHF’s message through all of its channels and provides support for the overall strategic direction of the organization.
Jolene is currently a J.D. Candidate at the University of Ottawa. She has a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor (Honours) of Social Science in International Development from the University of Ottawa.
